I installed a MPI supercharger on a customers Apex GT and had it out to tune and clutch. I'm pleased to say after a little fuel tuning mainly alltitude related it worked out very well. It was a pleasure to talk to Mac at Mountain, he knows his product . With a few minor fuel adjustments the sled ran real well. We had a 850 ft test track set up and the supercharged GT on low boost/pump gas run 10 mph faster than a stocker in that distance. My customer will get exactly what he asked for.
The next install in progress now will get alittle more boost. Will let you know how this one works out. Its sure nice to work with products that perform as promised. Mountain Performance gets a thumbs up on this one. :D :D :D

Did you install a bigger head gasket? What boost are you running? You say you had to make a fuel adjustment, was that accomplished through the stock system or do you have an auxilary fuel system to make up the difference in the fuel needed? Does this sled have an intercooler? The reason I'm asking all these questions is a buddy has an Apex Mountain and he is considering a Blower but he wants just a little more power, and simplicity as for as the install and set up goes. He says if he could have around 190Hp that would be good enough. Any info you could supply would be great. Thanks

Same good things to say here except mine is on an Apex ER. Just wish I had some more snow to ride the thing on!!!

Snow Fever,
The kit installed above was a stage I pump gas kit.
No head gaskets are required at this level. It runs around 6 psi of boost, depending on rpm your cluthed to, and should make around 200-210 HP.
Didn't get a chance to dyno this one due to time issues, but the performance level we saw tells me it will be close to what Mountains telling us. The next install will get 10 psi and should make around
240 on a Apex, RX1's will be slightly lower. I would recomend this kit for your buddy as it sounds like your buddy is looking for the same thing as
what my customer was looking for he just whats to beat his buddy's with a dependable pump gas combination. Install time on the first kit was about
20 hrs but not a bad job. Better to spend a little extra time in the shop as it's harder to fix problems out in the field. Yes it has a intercooler. LOL :D

Iam running the stage 1 kit on my '03. I have 300 miles on it (250 on high boost) with track ratchet (with extros) and the intercooler blowing off (4 times) being my only problems. 230 HP on a new track isn't a good combo unless you keep ahead of the track's initial stretching :drink: . The intercooler stayed on until the third day when I had a tip over. I had to rmove the intercooler because it filled with raw fuel and wouldn't start. After that, everytime I would ride a rough trail the intercooler would blow off. I have it in my shop now to get the intercooler properly attached to prevent this.

Anybody know of a oneway valve that a guy could put in the carb vent lines to keep the fuel out of the charge tube and intercooler during a tipover? If so, I am looking to install them in my sled.

Jim.. Is your sled still ratcheting? Mine did.. I had to tighten up my limiter straps and after that it was good.

I haven't pulled the sled off the trailer yet. I have been working nights at the refinery and have 1 shift left to go. I'm going to check my track tension first since it is a new track with only 300 miles on it.

not sure if you tried this but guys are using hairspray on the boots to keep the intercooler on...dries like glue!

Chris, thanks for the tip. I was going to try some 3m spray adhesive but, will try the hair spray trick first.
