Changed the oil yesterday. I put 2L in the can and 1.2L in the engine, warmed it up and checked it. It showed just above the L mark. Taking it out for a ride today. Should I put more oil in now or ride it a bit then check the level? I though I read that the level will rise a bit after riding. A little bit of air bubbles in the oil on top of the fat part of the dipstick. Is this normal? Also I had the heat shield off because it was full of straw. If everything felt tight should my doughnuts be ok? Has 2300 miles on it.

What ever you do, dont overfill the oil level. I thought I was being mr cautious last year and made sure oil was above the fill mark. On these sleds it snorts it back into the air box. Then you have to rip it apart, wipe it out real good and clean the foam in gas to get all the oil out. If at all possible its likely better to keep the level just below the mark.
Hope this helps

Also, you should run til its good and warm. Stop it, and then check it. Dont let it sit for awhile and then check. Definitely dont check it witha cold engine. Wouldnt worry about the bubbles. Likely cause the oil is being pumped around.
I am not an expert but the donuts should be ok at that distance.

There was black soot on the shield under one of my pipes and that's the only way that I knew there was a bad donut (no other indication). If they are tight and there is no black you should be good for a while but mine only had 4000 miles.
