Well first off i got my new arp studs come last week and a couple days ago i took a 3 hour drive to my yamaha dealer to get them put in. Anyway we were told that the stock studs could be taken out without removeing the head however we could not get them out and they had a gasket in stock so we pulled the head and its a good job we did. When we pulled the head we noticed that the pistons were in bad shape no idea when it happened but its a good job those studs never came out without pulling the head because in a week or less i would of been buying a new motor. So seeing its all tore apart now its going together RIGHT. I'm sending the block out on monday and i'm also adding carollo rods and je 10:1 pistons so if i up the boost over the summer the engine will be ready for it. Boy this is gonna cost some big $. i'm getting everything done at my dealer but i guess when it goes back together it will have the strenght it needs to handle boost. I could of just added stock pistons an be on my way but its apart now its just as well to do it right.

Another thing i was told by a guy at a machine shop and had a hard time to believe is that the stock block can't handle more than 10psi by the sounds of it on here most guys don't get work done on the block without their running BIG boost 20+psi :dunno:

I was planing on selling this thing the summer and the last thing on my mind was putting another $5-6000 in it again the winter maybe i'll keep it another year and just up the boost to 20+psi.

I just can't believe that i went up with this

and it ended up being left like this when i was expecting to be riding again that night boy i got some luck #$%&*

Sorry my friend, that sucks. If it's any consolation though, the money you're spending now was going to get spent in a few weeks anyway, plus maybe a block.

Make sure you dial the bore while it is apart. No sense putting all those expensive goodies into a block with spread cyl's...

Thanks for the tip lakercr although i won't be touching the motor in this thing myself it will be done by yami mechanics which are used to tearing these motors apart. Hopefully i can have it on the go by the end of feburary thats when the races usually start around here each weekend a small comunity has its own sports day with snowmobile races and other events.
