Apex motor in FX Nytro chasis, could be stroked to 1,100 CC at 165 HP, Slightly bigger gas tank than the FX Nytro, Softer seat with GT calibrated suspendtion for 200 plus mi day's. The larger wind shield's are available and look good. Maybe if we get enough order's put together Yamaha will build it for us. Remember the Apex should get updated in 09. What do you think? I saw the 08's last night and think the new Nytro's are awsome but they do not have a groomed trail calabrated version for me so the 06 Apex GT will probably get one more year. Not a problem, IMO the Apex is still the best all around package to date. kviper

I doubt the Apex will get revamped in '09, I'll bet it'll be closer to 2011 IMO.

Maybe but the 'every 3 yrs.' is not a pre-programmed, automatic new product release cycle. The SX / Vmax ran for 6 years, SRX for 5. Personally, I'd rather see Yammie slow down a bit so they can fix the (thankfully) minor problems like what we've had to deal w/on the Apex's (hand warmers, poor cooling, zerks that don't work, sticky relays, etc.).

Not sure on the power increase but if there is it will not come frome a turbo. There is room for 10 or 20 HP more in naturaly aspirated form though. I was told by a very good source that Yamaha has tried all of the turbo and SC kit's and will not be going that route any time soon due to caust and keeping it reliable. kviper

more power
A faster/higher h.p. sled is what I have been waiting for. Until they make something different or make the Apex faster, I'm sticking with the RX-1. Since Yami goes in 3s, I have high hopes for next year.

My sled minus 50lbs with a better rear shock and we would be perfect... along with 2-3mpg better fuel milage.. and a new ski design..
Its hard to beat a well setup apex... IMO..

When the Apex drops 50 lbs, I will get back into the sport immediately. That would be a worldbeater with all the torque of that engine. Until it does, I need something lighter. That's why I'm so excited about the Nytro line. Even if it is 510 (God I hope not, but I'd buy it anyway) dry, by the 2009 model year they will have dropped some weight on it (I hope and worked out any bugs).

I agree! I think the Delta II chassis is going to live on in the Vector series for the next 3 years and we will see a totally new "Top Dog" to replace the Apex. jmho
