Lost all the clips off my right side piece and have to buy new ones, at first i thought no big deal until i saw the price. 14 DOLLARS ARE YOU FREAKING NUTS?!?!?!?!?!? For a little screw piece that is mass produced to fit hundreds of models it cannot be 14 freaking dollars. I'm here thinking now I have to get like four of them too, 45 freaking dollars for things smaller than my thumb. The best part is that there are some of these pins that are different part numbers so i can't just go oh ill just rip it off a place that doesn't need it. Is it me or is this just crossing the line when it comes to cost.
Here is the part

Then the SPECIAL dollar washer that most likely has to go on it.

This is seriously why i love the fourms. I give thee a digital man hug to you sir. I was looking at the part on this site(#39) and was just floored so much that i was in denial that it would cost this much to get them things replaced.

yeah, they are insanely proud of those little buggers for some reason. Not only is it cheaper at kurvey, you get a sweet sticker too!

So can I use these ones since they provide the backers to them?
http://www.kurveygirl.com/shop/product_ ... cts_id=212
or do i have to use the stock oem ones, id love to save 2 bucks on each pin.

They seem like the same part but the top one comes with washers and back plates and match the color to my cowl.

just so you know, http://www.kurveygirl.com/shop/product_ ... cts_id=318 is exactly what I ordered, and they worked perfect, I got 6, came with the clip and the pin and washers for 34.50. Julie Salcido is the lady that helped me out!
the first ones you listed are 2mm too short (it makes a difference)

Good catch, the first ones i posted where 12mm long, i need the 14 mm ones. Since they come with the washers and the backings that match to the bolts they should work right? They recommend getting new backings anyway. The only difference between the oem ones and these ones are the min bodywork hole size. Oem is 7.2 and these ones are 6.2, though i dont think i will have a problem with hole size

Just trying to see what works, every penny saved is a penny more in the gas tank.

yes, technically those should work, just a heads up I bought 2 different sized clips from royal distributing, both of them should have technically worked. Neither of them did. I ordered the ones kurveygirls listed as a direct replacement and they worked. You might be saving a few bucks ordering those if they work, if they don't though you will be spending more then you should.
just my 2 cents

I got my replacement dzus fasteners from kurveygirl over the summer because I too was not impressed by the OEM pricing of these.
But when I place them besides the Yam ones you can tell some differences:
-The plating is of higher chrome quality on OEM.
-The machinery, grooves of the pin is more precise on OEMs. Yam seems to actually die-cut while the other one casts?
-OEM has a thicker plastic washer outside and metal holder on inside. KG has thinner plastic washer and a second one is as a holder on the inside.
I bought my 09 sled used and the dzus started to rust a bit. Being difficult I replaced them over the summer. I have an enclosed trailer so I know the finish on kurveygirl's will last a long time regardless. They work just as good so besides me no ones else notices the difference.
I keep the OEM's as spares since I know one buddy who lost one on the trail once.
