I remember reading on this forum that people liked the Napa Gold Oil Filter, or the Wix filter instead of the Yamaha filter. I lwent to two Napa stores in my area yesterday and neither could find what filter fit the Apex. Is it the Napa Gold # 1358? I also did a search and could not find anything.

For whatever it's worth, NAPA filters are made by WIX.

So are the Carquests I believe?
I just ordered 2 of these, they are the Premium ones and are suppose to be pretty good. • Carquest 85358
I am currently running the Hi-Flo filters, awesome filter imo but I got a connection now for the Carquest ones which are about half the price again

the K&N 204 has a nut as part of the body, so you can get a socket on it. it is handy as hell!

I agree but imo K&N is not a "premium" filter, you pay a premium price for the name and the nut on the end but you do not get premium quality or filtration.
I am currently running the Purolator One filter but I would not be scared to run the walmart filter as well.

wix is good...I believe I was the first guy to run 0w-20 synthetic (all thought I was nuts) and the purolator pure one...top rated on bike filter selections..the wix 1358 was a close second choice...last I recall advance auto carried the pure one..

Is this Napa Gold oil filter a short or long filter? The MCX turbo sleds need the short one.
