I've been radar running for a number of years now, and love making sleds go fast. Started with stock stuff and have now moved into boosted sleds. Its a passion I've enjoyed with my best friend Ernie, and we/ve made alot of stuff go fast on the ice and asphalt. This year we build a motec controlled, big turbo "trail" sled that started as a MCX kit to compete with. Its been a tough winter with the sled, lots of little issues with the sled, stuff to figure out with the tune and then just some plain bad luck. Well this weekend stuff came together with it and Ernie tuned it to a 156 with his driver Holly on it.!! Congrats!!

Last weekend I ran my turbo, pushed it to its limits on pump gas at 135 in 1320(there may be 1 or 2 more), this past weekend I installed a speed track, tied down the suspension and turned the boost up to 20 lbs on race gas and ran 143.6 with me on it and 146.6 with my wife Crystal on it. This year my 2 boys have been itching to run the sleds down the track, so I started with the oldest on my stock apex and he ran 108.9. His mom keeps beating him @ 110 and change every weekend, this weekend I let Robbie Jr take a run(he's 13 @100 lbs) and he got it up too 114 in 1320 so he's all smiles! This has turned into a family thing we are all enjoying - I love my kids are getting to the age I can share this passion with them!

nice run rob, congrats. i'm having a hard time dialing in my sled for the 1/4. i tried it on fri and it fell flat on it's face. i tried yesterday and the track was bad, didn't even get the sled out the trailer.
did ernie get the fastest time in his class? claud told me there would be a team there that usually runs 170 in that class.

Ernie did get top speed in his class. We ran in a different class to let Ernie and another sled battle it out. Our top speed was 160.6 which was disappointing but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Went out to check it out Sunday. Lots of fun watching the sleds go by. Lots of really cool sleds. Great job everyone!

i want to give you praise for knowing how to "play fair in the sandbox". most guys who take the time to build a sled do 160.6 will want all the glory. good on you for excellent sportsmanship ;)!.
how did ernie make, did he get the top speed in his class?

Very nice Robbie! I know you and Ernie work hard at it and deserve it. I'am very glad that you were as willing to help me set my sled up as I had no experience with MCX. My sled ran very well this past weekend at the weenie roast in Cable Wi. If you and Ernie would ever want to make the trip to Wisconsin the first weekend in March to the Weenie Roast I think you would have a great time! Anything from lake racing to 1000' speed run's. Very very nice it's with your family also.

Well it was a struggle to get there but I cant thank Robbie enough for his building skills and patience and yes I won the class both days running straight down the track and I would like to thank Holly for piloting my sled all weekend she did a great job driving. Just so everyone would not think it was a fluke I decided to run my own sled again at the end of the day and here is the results who says fat guys cant go fast LOL
