We just got back from the Black Hills and have a couple of questions. This was my first ride on my 06 Rage and when the trail got a little rough I would get a clunking sound from the suspension. It sounded llike it was coming from the front of the skid. Is this normal with the Mono Shock setup? Is something loose? We had rode about 100 miles on Saturday and was about 2 miles out of Trailshead when a orange warning light flashed and the handlebar showed up on the display and the machine just started to die. After damn near getting hit from behind I coasted to the side and it just idled. I figured it was the TORS. I know that there was problems with the 05's, has there been any problems with the 06 models?

No Idea what caused it to die, but as for the clunk, the TY crew feel it is either the limiter strap or the transfer rode. Mine was real bad, so I played with the RA and found reducing the dampening [softer] almost eliminated it [oposite to what I was thinking].

My 06 rage sure does make noise just like you report. I have found the exact answer as canadianhunter has posted. Play with the damping and you can lessen the noise. I rode a budies 600 Cat on a section of trail that got the rage's suspension to clunk and bang. I tried to determine if his suspension was making similar sounds. Engine noise makes it very hard to tell. his suspension sound seemed very muffled compared to the rage. Maybe when one can not hear the howl of the engine alot of new sounds I believe pop up. Sorrow to hear about the engine wanting to die.

I have the same clunking sound on my 06 Rage as well,if it is the limiter strap wonder if it might help to shorten it??Its set to max now. This clunking sound is pretty irritating actually. For me it doesnt help no matter where i set the RA though.

Its nothing ...and adjusting the strap wont help...it only does it at slow speeds ...so go fast!!!swedeman said:canadianhunter said:No Idea what caused it to die, but as for the clunk, the TY crew feel it is either the limiter strap or the transfer rode. I ride an 05 Rage and have the same clunking noise, found as the sled was broken in the noise wasn't so bad. Good Luck
