need help think my 05 yam rage just blew up

i had problem with oil tank cracking lower corner tried to fix ,,,,, no got new tank an 300 km and new one broke worse and dumped all oil out and think it blew up very very bad design by yamaha not very happy
4 stroker ,,,,,,bummed in Lindsay ontairo, canada

It may of turned its self off when you lost your oil pressure. Have you fix the tank and add oil to see if it runs.

i just took the air box and bat out an there s a big hole in the side of the block it scewed what a friggin stupid way to put a oil tank the center rod came throuh the block tank is full of oil and no oil in the block i just payed 6 grand for this sled .not happy 4 stroker f****##$$$$kkk

So the oil tank isn't broke and is full of oil . Did you buy it with the oil tank broke or no .

talked to yamaha and they told me i'm beat,,, my sled only has 6800 km on it and and it has had a prob with the oil tank cracking ,i bought it with 4200 km on it now i'm left with a hole the size of a fist in the side of the block ,i bought a used oil tank from a dealership and it lasted 200 km and cracked as well and lost all oil ,i thought there was a oil shut down on these but i guest not now i'm totaly screwed lots of snow and no sled
VERY VERY BUMMED ABOUT MY YAMAHA VERY POOR OIL TANK DESIGN !!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think there is an oil shutdown, just a low oil pressure light. Did that light come on?

To recap what happened. You lost your oil (alot of it) and then the engine ran without lube and then that's what caused the destruction?

I heard about this on weekend. Instead of blaming the manufacturer, maybe you shouldn't have driven your sled knowing it was leaking oil. Or you could have paid mechanic to put oil tank back properly.

are you a friggin joke ,,,there was no oil light that did come on and if you look into it,, there was and is a prob with the tank s cracking on these sled s and i am a mechanic lol
this was an is a warning to other 4 stroke owner s to look out for this prob ....

wow let's see there is a hole in your oil resevoir for the second time, oil is leaking on ground you tried to drive sled back home and it quit. your a mechanic and you need an oil light to come on and tell you to check oil, seriously? your really funny lol a friend of a friend of fb says next time try a yamaha snowmobile mechanic
