I ride the sled hard and find that i am thrown off my seat way too much
so from there should i go to harder rebound or softer ,not sure i understand the wording correctly.I tried both direction did not really fix the problem so i am thinking maybe take the shock apart and change the valving.Any idea or advise on what i can do,i weight 230 with gear and looking at stiffer spring because it keeps bottoming,i am affraid that kicking will get worse.
Thanks

Yup. I have my rebound set to near full tight, in other words, minimum rebound. Three clicks out from full stop. This is with stock spring which I have to change as its bottoming hard everywhere now. Heftier spring will surely need more rebound control. Damn.

I went with stiffer spring and the bucking is still there. Don't think it's any worse than stock and does improve bottoming out. However, the spring is just a simple quick fix. The problem is the way the shock is valved, both-fast speed rebound and fast speed compression dampening. The shock should show more progressive resistance to bottoming as it compresses. IMO, the ride in stutters was ideal with stock spring but it wouldn't take squat for it to bottom out. Installed Fat Boy spring and it helped with bottoming but lost the cushy ride in stutters.

As for rebound dampening it bucks the same regardless of which spring you have. I have my rebound set stiff and it doesn't help. These adjustments we have for rebound and compression mostly are for slow speed or smaller bumps and fast speed dampening (big bumps) is controlled by valving stacks. I will be contacting Bruce Shrader at Pioneer Performance to see if he has come up with any solutions.

Please keep us posted on what valve stack changes help dial up more rebound control. Also, did the bigger spring make it ride worse on stutters?
