thinking about buying my wife a 2013 nytro xtx. We are selling her apex its heavy and I want to get her something lighter.
Any nytro owners out there that can give me honest-- good and bad.

Does she like to stand up at times or just sit down? Only trail riding or play off trail also?

I prefer my Apexs to trail ride as long as there aren't a lot of studders or moguls.

But as soon as it gets rough I love my Nytro so I can stand up. I probably ride my Nytro standing up 1/3 to 1/2 the time

Off trail definitely the Nytro.

She mostly rides on trail, but the times we do jump off trail her apex is way to heavy. She has a hard time throwing it around. I thought a nytro may fit her better?

nytro way better off trail than apex but it is a riders sled and not a cruiser ,, needs little work on clutch and rear sys could benifit from star upgrade . small gas tank and needs the tall winshield . excel wheels really help in hard conditions for slide wear.

what about a phazer xtx?? light, nimble, and a hoot off trail..My ex wife has a nytro, she does good on it, but honestly she was faster on her phazer unless its a straight line..Her nytro is well set up as was her phazer..The nytro is still just a bit to heavy for her..

Unless shes a big girl, or a very experienced rider, she might not like the Nytro. They are fairly big sleds that need alot of driver input to drive fast. Best way would be if she could try one out, Im sure there is a site member close to you, you would just have to wait for the snow.

If you're considering a lighter, more nimble all-around trail/occasional off-trial sled, the Doo Renegade with 900 Ace is worth a look / test ride IMO.

One of my riding buddies has one for his wife. She likes it on the trail but she doesn't ride real fast. She isn't very big and has trouble handling it when going off trail in any amount of snow. I'm not saying she won't like it but it may not be the best choice depending on her ability and how she wants to ride.

I love my Nytro, I find it very fun to ride, but it does feel very different than an Apex if that's what she's use to. I ride with a fella with an Apex and he always says he likes how mine feels much lighter, so I'm sure she would enjoy it too. There are lots of women riding Nytros here in my area. Hope this helps.

Thank all of you for your input. She decided on a viper Rtx se. Picked a 2014 with 1500 miles, mint condition for 9k.
I guess you could say it's the yr of the vipers for both of us!

Several of my buddies wife's ride the ski doo 1200 4 stroke I rode one last year and was actually very suprised how well it rode and handled. I still like my nytro for myself better though but for a woman you may want to look into it
