Hey guys, I wanna install an Autometer coolant temp guage, 2-1/16", on my APEX.
Anyone done this yet?
I am not with my sled right now so I can't figure out how I would mount it. Also where the heck does the sender go? Is it imperial thread? Or metric?
Thanks
Jonathon

temp guage
They have small digital temp guages at www.mountainperformance.com, under products and then tools and guages, just a small digital guage that mounts using velcro. But if Autometer is what you want check out their website, they have several different guages in the size you want. Hope this helps you out.

I made a plate that sits behind the gauge pod and the Auto meter gauges will fasten into it. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow to show you how we did it. Its not painted yet but you will see how it gets laid out.

Here is the pics that I promised I think looks pretty cool except for that stupid clear but warm windshield. Sorry the pics (taken in my kitchen) are not on the sled but it is not done yet.

Well I guess I dont need to post my pictures. The plate we made looks exactly like what 4kops has. My gauges mount on it the same way. When they are mounted they are flush to the front of the stock gauge cluster.

Thanks guys for all the pictures and gauge info! This is one area I wish Yamaha would take the lead on....instrumentation! I WANT and USE a temperature gauge on my sleds. I know they're trying to save weight and money (to keep MSRP in check), but what about an option? They MAKE money on options!

They could of at least put a digital one in the stock display. That cant add much weight. I feal a temp gauge is a must, not an option.

You've got to be kidding! Yamaha has the best looking and most easy to read guages of any manufacturer. A radiator with an electric fan is also stock, maybe for that reason they didn't install a temp guage.

Yes you are right they are the best looking, but not the best funtional gages, the fusion has all the readouts anyone could ask for and maybe to much, and yes i thought yammi could of installed the water temp gage into there software package for there LCD readout..StrongArm said:You've got to be kidding!
