So, I'm buying a Vector Mountain, 06, going to get a MCX Turbo and need some input
HOw much less does it perform than, say a 05 Rx-1 with mcx?
I know the HP numbers, just need some 'real life inputs'
And also, how hard is it to install the turbo, will get a gut who's had experience with two-stroke turbos to help me... will we be able to do it?
Thanks

I've never ran another turbo-4 but I didn't get beat by any 2-strokes. The install took longer than I thought but we were also taking our time. If you have any questions just let me know and I'll try to help.

talked to a gut that's innstalled on a 05 vector, he said 'bout 20 hours... but that seems a bit fast to me...
always good to know there are guys out there that's done this before...
will be sure to post questions here frequently

Take your time, it will probably take you closer to 30hrs if it's your first one. Don't even struggle trying to do the headgasket with the motor in the chassis. For the extra few bolts just pull the motor and do it on the bench. Watch the line that returns the oil from the turbo, mine got pinched when the seat bolted down, didn't cause me any problems as I pulled the seat off to recheck everything and saw it flattened, so was able to move it a little bit .

30 hrs isn't much though... have spent more time trying to figure out how to get my heel-clicker to work.. =)

I didn't calculate how much time it took but it was much longer than I thought it would. BTW, my instructions were minimal at best so I had to make a few calls to Sweden before it was over.

don't think the instructions will be a prob for me, as I know a couple of guys who has done this themselves... will be sure to call them ALOT.. and if I can't have it done right, it's like a 10 hour drive to mcx...

So if you already know a couple of guys that have already done it, why ask us ? Buy the beer and get them to do it, LOL
