I like many of you out there, work on my own machine and it stays on the trailer. I made up this hoist and it uses a 3/4 ton hand winch. It drops into the existing stake pockets already on the trailer, and it will come with me now when I travel to Canada or elsewhere.
It works quite well, and lifts the snowmobile up to a good height for skid removal with plenty of room to work. Take notice of the 4x4 jack stand in the last picture for backup support, this has a cutout for the bumper to sit in.

lift

bob good engineering, why wouldn't you take it in your garage, seems like you would have more space to move around.

I have a one car garage that's occupied with an ATV and a Motorcycle. The trailer works well for storage and also for maintenance, I've adapted!
