Stupid question. I have my needles out. There is the clip, and underneath there is a white pice of plastic. What is that for? Thought all I needed was the clip, can I ditch it?

If you were to remove it you would lean out the needles as you would be lowering them. They are necessary, don't remove them.

What DC5 said. It actually gives you a needle position that is in between the clip positions. Generally used for fine tuning. If you remove it and lower your clip one position you would be slightly richer than you were previously.

What DC5 said. The white plastic (rather thick) is in there for the reason DC5 said.
woodsrider is referring to the two thin washers installed one above and one underneath the c-clip, and what he said is correct when moving the thin washers.
Installing both washers on top of the c-clip will lean out the needle circuitry slightly, both washers installed underneat the c-clip will richen the needle circuitry slightly.
