I just moved from a Warrior to the 14 Apex XTX and I'm looking for the best suspension set up. I weigh 240 and ride semi-aggressively. In my short 50 mile ride it was awesome but seemed a little stiff with very little sag when you set on it and it felt like it kept working me towards the gas tank. I need to get up to speed with this new chassis and am looking for other tips as well. Are the stock wheels good enough or should I add wheels (big or small) ? Or, is slider wear not a problem on these now? I will be putting my C&A pro skis on it though. Any sound advice is appreciated.

I run without the star kit on mine with nitro xtx springs, hygear torsion spring spacers and muffin works 5 position adjusters on my 11 xtx with the shock clicker set about 4 clicks from full hard. I am on setting 4 on the adjusters and weighed 250 lb when I set it this way and it rode great. you might already have the nitro springs as some came with them but from the sounds of it they could be like mine was and it was way too stiff for me. front skid shock was set so that the spring was stiff to rotate by hand with track off of the ground.
I run a combo of kimpex 5.32 and slydog 5.35 real cool wheels with stock/kimpex plastic on mine. I usually get 3-4 seasons on a set of slide plastic.
I might not be as aggressive as you but I ain't grandma either. usually I whip off 120-150 miles in about 3-4 hours locally witch is pushing pretty hard.

- Which one? I have 6
Are you going to stud the track? If so how many? It might be too stiff for you now cause its new.
On mine I have the Nytro Mountain skis with the aggressive snow trackers. Good aggressive ski with excellent floatation plus you can mount the spacers to the outside of the spindle and you get wider inch of stance which is great for trail riding. I'm about the same weight so here goes.
Very aggressive rider.
Studded with 3 per row down the centre with a V pattern.
Front shock on rear skid lowered with no spring pressure.(used heavier RX-1 spring from a Warrior.) Shock was blowing thru the stroke.
Rear springs set to low.
Transfer set to max.
No spring pressure on the front shocks. (Snow tracker setup)
Limiters on stock setting.
Compression rebound setting to your liking.
Dupont sliders.(no wheel issues)
Sled rails with this set up. I don't have the Star suspension kit on it cause I like the coupled skid and the way it handles. Does not pop wheelies but with that front rear skid shock lowered it lowers the sled COG, and takes away alot of transfer. There is enough transfer to hook up real well.
