New Apex initial set up

Got a new leftover 2011 Apex and I will be going up to Maine next week to break it in! I'm looking for some feedback on setting up the skid to maximize Hyfax life! I have a set of the Mini wheels that can be mounted in the front although there is not that much room up there, and I have a set of the standard 5" wheels + brackets that can be bolted on to the pre existing holes at the rear of the skid. ANY FEEDBACK ON THIS WOULD BE GREAT

If you feel you have to put something on, Google search the 2011 Apex World record holder for Pics of what they did to their sled. The driver put 3,000 km on the same set of slides I think in 24 hours.

Put the 5 inch wheels with brackets on and you should be good. The Excel or Pioneer kits work great. I actually abhor those small hyfax saver wheel kits; they're useless. Lots here disagree. They either freeze up and quit spinning, the suspension compresses on them, or you lose them altogether......regardless of loc-tite. Remember good riding technique and don't run on frozen or glaze surfaces for extended periods without dipping into snow off the trail every now and then. It doesn't matter how many extra/extended wheels you have, you'll melt your plastic with out lubrication.
