The nylock version of the Woody's "big" nuts are new for this year. My dealer ordered them through Parts Unlimited.
BTW, for this stud height, Woody's recomends the shorter "Big" Nut.

I just studded my apex last week and used the 144 double/single pattern from Woody's. http://www.woodystraction.com/photos/144centerds.jpg I purchased the 60 degree stainless steel signature series studs. I also used the Woody's aluminum double backers and single backers along with Woody's locking aluminum tall nut that has nylon inserted into the locking nut. I purchased the Woody's plastic cardboard template and it worked fine for a one time installation. I also ordered Woody's track drill bit which I beleive made the job much easier along with the square indexing tool. It's time consuming but fairly easy if you have a cordless drill and a nice torque wrench. I just jacked the rear-end up by inserting 6X6 wood spacer block and a hydraulic jack under the rear grab bar. I jacked the sled up just enough to raise the track a couple inches off the ground. Follow the instructions provided by Woody's and go at it. I think it took me about 3hrs. to 4hrs to do and it was my first time ever installing studs.

Shivesy,
What was your total cost for the materials. Sounds like this is a good way to stud the APEX.

Thanks for the info, going to look into the nyloc type nuts over the nuts + star washer type. Currently im using the stainless studs with the required big nuts from woodys for their 1.325" SS stud on my ripsaw, and they do come loose, so I dont want to have to fight with that again.
Iv studded many sleds already and the best way is to make time, make yourself comfortable and prepare to work for at least 3 hours, and having a friend around is preety sweet too. I use whiteout to mark the holes for drilling and use the woodys template to designate the marks. Also, having the area well lit is very nice too, and its not alwyas 100%necessary to use the torx head to tighten down the nut on the stud, ususally there is enough friction that you dont need to hold down the head of the stud, just push it as much as you can through the hole. I didnt need an indexing tool for my square backer plates, just when the stud got really tight, id keep roatating it so that it lines up square to the lugs. The trick to doing this is to have the square plate in a diamond postion (pointy facing lug) when your first tightening, then once it tightens, just keep turning till the stud twists. Its kind of like a threshold level that you can acheive that will let you do this.
