I just ordered a set of these from Port Yamaha, they have a
special plastic and graphite blend material which provides an extra
slippery surface. Anybody try these or know anything about them?
They were $19.76 each.

I have a set I bought from Highlands in Chicago area. They are a little wider then stock but I have not installed them yet to see about wear?

I installed them at the beginning of the season and so far havent noticed really any difference than the stockers as far as wear...well, nothing mind blowing anyway. Same story...wore down half way until the idlers touched the track then slowed up, but I'll probably keep using those just because.

I didn't notice an improvement when I installed them, wore down within 500km.
I'm on my second season (if you want to call it that) with my cheap Kimpex brand sliders >2000km and they are still in great shape. BUT, this is after upgrading the idler wheels to larger ones.

I have had good luck with hyperslides from Hiperformance engineering. They do just like SK NYTRO said and thats wear till the wheels touch and last a couiple of seasons.

I use them on my Attak. They look like the other slides for the most part, maybe shapped a little different. They install pretty easy and they seem to wear very well.

That's all I run on all three sleds. Before I install, I temper them with a heat gun. Get them good and hot and cool them with ice water. I do it three times. They always last longer, 3 seasons.

never noticed track clip issues. Stay out of the dirt and ride in the white stuff. Plastic wearing out steel would need some help for sure...lol

Just me rabling----I thought allot of people were just using the hyfax off of the 97 and earlier sleds because they were not as wide and allowed more snow inside the track windows........ and on the topic of "heat treating" the hyfax...I just never understood this because when the hyfax is molded or extruded is is hotter than using a torch or not riding in good snow.... I just never really thought this holds much merit..... as plastics do not act like metals do with heat......

Tod, I always "heat treat" mine. It seems to harden the surface some. I have always had good luck doing it..

I had read that white slides last longer. If I remember correctly, had something to do with molecular bonding to itself. I put a set on my kid's Safari last year. So far, so good.

I burned thru a set of high performance ones in 500 miles. I've added some wheels now so we'll see if I can go further this time.
