Just got a new to me 07 Apex, which as far as I can tell is a Mountain SE. I used to have a 2000 Mountain Max when I lived in Idaho, but didn't get to ride much so I sold it. Now I'm in Montana and an empty nester, so more opportunity. Just joined a local club to learn where to ride and meet people to ride with me.
The sled only has 700 miles on it, in Excellent condition. Completely stock. I wanted another yamaha but was kind of over 2 strokes, so after some research I settled on an Apex... it fits my criteria.
I'm trying to find out what specifically makes a Mountain, and specifically the SE unique from other Apex models? Just color on the SE? I'm having trouble uploading photos. Any pointers? Thanks

I'm not a mountain rider.
To my knowledge the main differences are, narrower ski stance, longer track with tall lugs, wider skis and the gearing is set for not so high of top speeds.
Usually Yamaha uses SE for special decals.

I think what 74Nitro said pretty much sums it up, added to the list will be more weight as well, just don’t get it stuck.

I have a 2011 XTX, Like driving a Ferrari on the trail, like a bulldozer in the deep stuff. Not sure what width of skis yours has but I put a set of C&A pro mountain skis on mine and it helps a lot in the deeper stuff.

I thought all the Apex sleds came with reverse, my XTX has reverse. Wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t, sled probably weighs about 700 lbs, more with fuel and oil.

Meh... used to be a competitive power lifter and semi-pro rugby player....I thought all the Apex sleds came with reverse, my XTX has reverse. Wouldn’t have bought it if it didn’t, sled probably weighs about 700 lbs, more with fuel and oil.
