2008 Yamaha Apex LTX-GT 40th Anniversary
Hello, new to site and have a new to me sled.
2008 40th Aniv Apex
Have a few general questions to get started:

1.) I have a Yamaha Jet Boat with dual 1000cc MR-1 which is baseline same motor. I have the engine software and is great for health checks. Do these skis have the same type software and if so any leads on where best place to get

2.) Wiring lead/plug (harness side) for the Ohlins rear shock control is busted up. Seller said it works and wasn’t aware that the plug had been broken. I just plan to cut the wires and put a new 2 wire weatherproof plug on both ends - any reason I shouldn’t do this and buy a $50-80 wire?

I will keep reading on the must do fixes to see what’s been done and what hasn’t.

But any must do’s in the off season here would be appreciated.

thanks

Put stabilizer in your fuel and let your engine run for a bit, prep your sled for mice, plug your exhaust, but sticky traps on top of your track and in your engine compartment, moth balls work good, grease all your grease fittings, I use a water proof grease, like a marine type, under coat your rear suspension and front suspension be generous, I use rust check green can, blow out your clutches with some compressed air and wipe down the belt dust, I also spray wire connectors and wires with undercoating, keeps them from ozone hardening and mice hate it, some owners change there oils for the summer prep but I change everything in the fall prep, keep your battery charged up, I use leather care for my seat, give your machine a good washing and put some sort of protector on it like some Armor all or what not, some owners raise the front and rear for storage, but where I have front and rear air shocks I leave the pressure on them, store in a dry place out of the elements, that's all I can think of.

That cable actually has a connector on both ends as the solenoid on the shock has a piggy tail with a connector on its end that this cable connects to. Then, on the other end of that wire is another connector that connects to the connector on the lead going into the engine bay. Here's a PDF for adjusting that shock which also shows those connectors as well as how to route the wire. I got over 18,000 miles on my 08 Apex GT LTX and I have never had to replace the cable; only the solenoid. My solenoid went out recently and thought it was the cable as I could get ohms reading at the solenoid connector but not when connecting the cable and using the connector on the other end of the cable so ended up ordering one; think I only paid $58 US. Ended up being a bad connector at the solenoid as the two wires broke off right at the connector. When I retested the solenoid to see if I just needed to put on a new connector, I could only get ohms reading if I pressed the multimeter probe really hard on the exposed wires. Replaced solenoid and will keep cable as a spare but again, I have yet to need it in any of the 18,000 miles. I always followed the attached service bulletin and then some (ie. additional zip ties) when it came to routing that wire lead on the rear suspension.
