Another, is straight rate ski shock springs and more padding in the seat, these are fairly cheep noticeable mods.You can go all out and get the thicker sway bars and longer links......but I found just the spring change made enough difference for me.

Welcome Chevymax;
There is a lot that can be done to the sled. Have you ridden it yet?
the first thing would be handling before the HP gains. Do a search for rear suspension set ups. Lazy bastard has this down to a science. For the front end there are several things to do. Longer links are pretty in expensive, can probably find them in the classifieds as well as a larger swaybar, 12 or 13 mm. Next front shocks, yes it is better to upgrade shocks or just the springs, but 1st raise the sled off of the floor and loosen top nut off of spring so there is a gap of an 1/8 to a 1/4 of an inch, this will reduce the preload and allow the sled to sit a little lower and reduce inside ski lift. Next would be skis. Most like the Simmons but there are other choices. You will also need to purchase or make the shims for the skis to correct the factory forward down angle. Its easy to do, but you can purchase them for very little from Bergstroms. I used a piece of 1/4" plexiglass on mine. Do a search on this as well. All of these will help the handling amazingly.
HP gains, no doubt about it, the most bang for your buck will be the ECP kit. This is a dyno'd kit from Eastern Cycle Performance that includes filters, jets, springs, spark plugs, with matching clutch components. It will make your sled rock, and pull your arms out of socket. There are a million posts on this subject, it does work!
The stock track SUCKS, you will want to change it some time. Most of us have intalled the ripsaw.
A rear heat exchanger would be a good idea also, as the sled has a tendency to overheat.
A two inch handlebar riser would be a nice addition, plus loosen the 4 bolts that hold on the bar a little and give a shove forward, you may here a plastic clip snap, ignore it, no big deal at all.
Exhaust, there are many types you can buy, but several on here including me have just had the muffler gutted. Louder but sounds great. $40 at any muffler shop.
With so many guys on here purchasing the 06's, there are a lot of parts in the classifieds, check here for your mods first. Or post a WTB in the same section.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO LEARN HOW TO RIDE IT! I know this sounds like an insult, but it not meant to. The sled rides different, you can not steer with your feet. When coming up on a corner, power down before the turn to the desired speed and then re-power to the desired level through the turn. If you brake or power down at the turn and re-power up in the curve you will have scarry ski lift. Once you learn this the main problem is learning how to control the corners of your mouth, as they will be turned up most of the time.
Good luck and enjoy!

Forgot to mention there were only two problems that I can remeber. Under hood bumpers along back edge (tank side) of hood because rivets will rub holes in the bottom of hood. There were also a couple of rivets under the seat that need changed because of rubbing a hole in the fabric. The dealer will know of these.
