I'm going to replace my track this year with an ice attack or ice ripper. Which of the prestudded tracks are best for my stock 06 er with 10770 mi. I ride mostly groomed trails in the Tughill in upstate NY. I also do some powder riding as my camp is deep in the woods on a seasonal road. Expense is a factor. The track that is on it now is original.

I think by far the best pre studded track is the 1.22" ice attak XT. That is the track I am putting on my apex right now for next year.

I just put an Ice Attak XT on my 06' Attak, but I haven't had a chance to run it yet. Sure looks pretty sitting there, though!

I put 1" pre-studded on my 07 and did it again on my 12 look at the weight savings any weight you can save on the track is major for top speed. if that is not something you are interested in then the little bit of extra paddle may be useful I never missed the paddle being that the studs poking out make it basically 1.25 again.

BE sure to replace drive shaft while you are there. Anything over 10000 and you are on borrowed time. and track swap is 99% of drive shaft replacement work already done.

I bought the Ice Attack earlier this spring from CB Performance. Great Prices.

Are people still busting shafts with the newer updated heavy duty ones? I heard of that being a problem on the older shafts but thought it really wasn't a problem now worth the larger heavy duty drive shafts.

O.P. stated his was an 06. I think 2011 was the first for the updated drive shaft, but not sure. 06 for sure is prone to fail. I dont think the newer shafts are a drop in upgrade. I think there is some mod required. I installed a heavy duty shaft with extroverts from Ulmer racing for my 07. It was a no mod upgrade.

My 09 apex has the heavy duty shaft. I think 09 is when they started upgrading those.
