Hey Guys,
We were at a local sled show this past weekend and we met a guy that came up with a neat little part for trailers. If you hate that annoying rattle you get from your trailer hitch receiver when you are hauling the trailer around then this is a product for you.
It slips over the receiver, then you tighten a bolt against hitch, and no more rattle.
Price: $20

Nice! Your description of how it mounts ("It slips over the receiver, then you tighten a bolt against hitch, and no more rattle.") confused me at first until I saw the picture. I am not sure if I am correct but I always considered the removeable part the hitch and the part that it slides into on the truck the receiver. In any case it looks like a nice device.
I once drilled and tapped a threaded hole in the side of my receiver (my definition) and put in a bolt with a jam nut that pushed against the hitch (my definition) which worked to eliminate the rattle but I had to keep the bolt and threaded hole lubed up to prevent it all from rusting together over time.

My memory is foggy here, but I bought one of those 15 years ago, the day after I bought a hitch.
I believe the issue was there wasn't always enough spacing to fit it. When I could fit it I couldn't keep it tight enough to do any good.

people don't even keep the ball tight or adjusted on the tongue of trailer ,so this would be something else they would not do ..
