wow that is cool!
In the article posted above the guy says his odometer read 180.1km (unless google translate translated it wrong), I wonder what the actual kilometers/miles traveled was according to a gps because there had to been alot of track spin going on there. those 600etec's are great on gas and it still took him 63liter or 16 gal of fuel for the three hours he was out there, thats only 2.8km/l or 6.72mpg, or another way to look at it is 21liters/hour or 5.55gal/hour!
I belive when people are out to try to break these records they under estimate how much fuel they are going to need to travel that far, which is why the record stood for so long.

I'm surprised they didn't use a GPS. You'd think that would be high on the priority list when going to that extreme. Very cool though

They actually used 2 gps devices to confirm the distance. A vehicle navicator and a dog gps (what is used for hunting purposes).

Yes, I'm waiting for the Sea-Doo overland distance attempt- current record probably held by newbie during unintentional beach assault.

So 180.1 km is from GPS as sled odometer showed 185km.
