Nifty site - I finally registered.
Now I have a question - my 2002 Grizzly is making clicking noises from the rear, sounds like the cv joints. I have seen the Gorilla axles, but it seems like they don't list them for the 2002. The stock Yamaha's seem to be mighty spendy.
Is it worth it to get a boot kit and clean and regrease the old ones? Or is that just a waste of time?
Thanks for the help.

HI and welcome!!! ;)! If its clicking I am sure it is broke. You can pul it apart and double check. Yamaha parts come pretty fast so you will not have long down time. I have gorrillas on the front. To me its a must with the big tires. If you are running stock tires a newer axel will be fine as they are updated.

Just make sure the noise you hear coming from the rear is not the clicking noise they all make that comes from the rear driveshaft assembly otherwise you will be chasing something you can't fix. If the boots are not torn on your rear cv joints they most likely are not broke (they usually tear after breaking). I have heard clicking come from worn out front cv's when turning but have never really heard clicking from the rear's unless they are broken.

yea I wouldn't jump the gun till you figure out what is the problem. If your getting a clicking noise it just might be from the rear brake which is a normal thing, for grizzly's.

But for servicing your boots and regreasing. When it comes to this type of axle, if it aint broke dont fix it. Just leave it be.

if the cv is making a little noise don't fix it till it stops turning the wheel.
gorilla does make axles for the 02,but you also just order the cv joint which includes all new internal parts ,boot and grease aslo instructions are included
but you could check the rear diff bolts ,my rear diff came loose and made some noise

Thanks for the tips

;)! I will check for loose fasteners, inthe past I found the rear brake rotor was pretty loose, the manual says 7 ft lbs, but the bolts weren't that tight. Not much fun to get in there to tighten anything, and as far as greasing the ujoint, might as well try to put the world trade center back together :o|
I wasn't too concerned about the axles, just have read where lots have been broken, these I don't think are broke, just planning for when I might have to plunk down $400 a piece to fix them. Otherwise it runs great!
