Please don't just tell me to do a search as I have tried that and have come up with nothing. I might not know how to use the search engine correctly but I find it very difficult to find any pertinent info when doing a search. My questions are how do you change the chaincase oil on my 07 Attak, I don't see a drain plug on the chain case like my Polaris. I bought Amsoil 75-90 gear lube synthetic but it looks like I have to pull the cover, is this so? Also I can not find any info on doing the air box mods. Isn't there a home mod you can do or do you have to buy a kit ? Since the airbox is off right now, it would be a good time to perform the mod, but not sure what to do. If it's just me having difficulty with the search engine could someone please tell me the right way to go about finding specific info and not bring up post that have absolutely nothing to do with what I'm looking for. Thanks, Gene.

Oil drain plug location is on the inside of the tunnel (between tunnel and track) you shoudn't have problem finding it....

:-o Thanks Badsled, I was wondering if that might be the drain plug but I could not find any info on it in the owners manual or on here. Thanks again for the quick response. Any info on air box mods? Gene.

After spending about an hour looking at my airbox when I had it off, I just came to the cunclusion that if I cut out the bottom of the box, and keep the modification inside the framerail(s), I should be okay. So after cutting, I used the instructions from Ulmers' site to adjust my low end fuel (do it after running so you can see how much to adjust) and I haven't had any problems, and have noticed an increase in performance. I don't have any photos of my airbox modification, but I basically just cut the bottom air horn off, but I left the little drain hose nipple intact. I don't know why, but I did. I think you only stand to gain so much power anyway from this or any mod, so going crazy with the cutoff wheel won't make it even more powerful. Just be conservative, cut off the airhorn, and you should be fine. Your sled may have a hesitaton off idle after doing this, and adjusting the fuel will take care of it. I added 10 to all 4 injectors and it's fine now. Once you look into this you'll know what I'm talking about.

When you change your chaincase oil, it's much less of a mess if you take off the lower side panel.

nate007 and favarcat, thanks. Turk I did try the search for air box mods, I tried that before I got on and asked for help. When i did the search it brought up nothing I could actually get any info from. I said it may be something I was doing wrong and asked for help not" it can surely be done". I tried and it brought up post that had absolutely nothing to do with air box mods. The only correlation i saw was some of the post it brought up, the guys posting had airbox mods in their signature. On some search engines you have to put a + in between words or phrases and I tried that also but came up with nothing pertinent. That is why I said if it's just me could some one please explain how to successfully perform a search on this site. I am a member of several Diesel truck sites and when some one has a question i always answer even if it has been answered several times before as some people need an answer now not spend hours trying to do searches on sites where they may not be familiar with that peticular search engine. I always try to look things up before I ask for help, so when I say I can't find it, it's because I can't find it ,not because I'm lazy. Sorry for the rant but not much bothers me more than when some one asks for help all they get is look it up. Gene

Example only. First pic is on page 3 in this one.

Try "Air and box and mods" or "airbox and mods"

You have to spell out "and", not use the + symbol.

Then check the subject to see if it looks appropriate and start clicking.

I found four or 5 threads just in the last couple of months that look like they may be what you are looking for.

Also helps me to right click the thread from the search that I want to see and left click " open in new window ". That way when you try to go back it does not give you the " session has timed out ". You just close the new window and your back to the search answers.

Back to the question of the thread, I also have heard of, and was going to to mine this way...
You can get individual K&N filters with socks for each air inlet, and go a little more crazy with the cuting tool. You'll have to keep the box intact enough to keep the lid for protection, unless you can be creative and devise a way to keep snow and water away.
I did a few mods together, and noticed a drop in mileage for the first few tanks of fuel, but I think it came back to near stock levels now. I cold have been riding alot harder than normal to wring out the bugs of all the newly added toys! I think the Dooley carbides kill mileage more than the motor mods.

Good tip Mikecam, I am learning alot already on these 4 strokes and having fun doing it. I just finished polishing up the bar riser and the tunnel and the aluminum rails that run from under the footboards to the rear bumper looks pretty sweet. Now I need more :bling . Gene

Nate007, I'm toying with the idea of making up a ram air setup that draws air from the front , with of course a screen and some prefilter material. I had the air box off the other day and looked things over pretty well and I think it could be done. Gene

I've been playing with some carbon fiber stuff recently. I thought it'd be cool to learn some mew tricks, so I would like to take the summer and come up with a sweet looking ram air design that fits and looks like ti could be stock.
IMO, the "ram air" kits that alot of guys have been making at home aren't living up to their true potential. Most of the air is just passing by. I think in order to be truly effective it should employ either a cowl induction design to take advantage of the low pressure area behind the cowl at the base of the headlights, or a scoop that could be made funtional for a snowy/wet environment. I've given it alot of thought, and I hope I'm on to something.
