Does anyone know if anybody makes a Nitrous kits specifically for the Viper?
What are the pros and cons of using Nitrous? Is it safe and as reliable as a Turbo or Supercharger?

- something from 2019!
just tried google and nothing came up specific to the viper but I do know some of the pro's and cons of such systems.Does anyone know if anybody makes a Nitrous kits specifically for the Viper?

pros. instant extra hp at the push of a button
cons. need to clutch for extra power, doggy clutching when not on the bottle. extra weight of bottle and associated wiring/hoses. definitely not as reliable as turbo and supercharger.
Nitrous low up front cost, but the gas is very expensive, difficult to obtain, and only used for brief periods. Also would require additional plumbing of gasoline supply.
A turbo or supercharger cost more up front, but they work for "free" more or less once installed.

Yes the big issues
1. You only get to push the button a couple of seconds.
2. Carrying the extra weight of the tank for the times your not using it
3. You would have to clutch for that HP and then all other times you would be way off
It was big in the mountains when you would get in trouble on a climb and needed the extra boost to make it to the top and HP is down due to elevation.
or in controlled situations such as drag racing where it is all over in a few seconds.

As my username says, I used to install NOS kits on all types of sleds, bikes, quads, cars and trucks.
Like Yamadog and TD Max have said.... Nitrous by the lb. is so expensive right now and clutching has to be set lower for when you do use the nitrous. I quit putting systems on sleds by me because the availability wasn't there anymore. Sure, it was fun and I setup some pretty fast sleds, but carrying a 10 lb. bottle into my hotel room was what I had to do if I wanted to have fun all weekend to fill the small bottles. It was nice cause I could let anyone drive the sled with the nitrous off and was pretty close to stock, turn on a switch and you were at full power. Price is cheaper than a turbo, but I wasn't going to pay $5 a lb. anymore. When it was $2.50, hell yeah! Couldn't hold it more than 15 seconds and always had to make sure the fuel solenoid was working...otherwise could score a piston or worse

I think I was a dentist in high school.....I took care of a lot of guys teeth , LOL
#5/lb is likely a thing of the past as well. I think I was paying that or even more in the big cylinder. I still have a filling pump etc if anyone is interested. I turned in the big cylinder this summer when the lease expired.
I knew you were the caring type. Remember take care of your teeth its the only set you will get.

I'm still the caring type.....
The one girl in high school who I had the hots for.... got beat up by her boyfriend 1 night at a party. He ended up with a broken jaw. He never hit another girl (as far as I know). My hand was broke in 3 places, never healed correctly.
TD - The guy who wanted to buy my filling station came too late, I sold mine awhile ago. I will let him know you have a filling station. He races a bike at my track
