NOS Newbie

Personally I do not like the dry systems. A dry system is where no extra fuel is added, and wet is where you supply extra fuel.

Also the little bottle that is supplied with the sneaky pete won't last you long.

Ok, Well in not looking for a crazy system. I just want something to use agenst some bigger sleds on the lake or show off a little. Any body have suggestions on what to do?

I have a NOS brand system and it works great. NOS-PRO is right get a wet system that sprays into each intake port. A dry sneaky pete won't give you much and would be a waste of money. To do the NOS brand correctly you will need to spend around 1500 total. Thats about what I spent and it included an extra bottle, gauges, safety switches etc. If you want more info PM me or do a NOS search

The base kit #NOS-03005NOS is 658.69 it'll get you started. The total I'm refering to includes an extra bottle 139, bottleheater 149, gauges 150-175, pressure safety switch not to mention all of my trips to the local house of hose to get the hoses cut to the proper length, extra fittings, etc, you get my point. It doesn't pay to go cheap with the N2O It'll cost you more in the long run. It takes some time to install but it was worth it.

I hear the Holzman is easier to install maybe give them a call.

pimp you dont need all the extra bells, horns, heater with the BOSS NOSS KIT, that ones around $325 and you would only need to buy an extra nozzle for $30. junkie

I didn't know N2O kits came with bells and horns.

I've seen post after post of different guys on the net that can't tune those other cheap kits, and some aren't all that cheap, and they get lackluster performance. With NOS the ones who designed the original fogger nozzle you get consistent performance. Jet it and your finished. No tuning with a control box. I'm not saying you can't get the other kits to work I just didn't want to mess with a tuner. The gauges and other things help to keep the system in check' after all you are talking about your expensive sled. With a 40hp jetting you are getting more like 50 at the crank and the system is capable of 200 hp with the right fuel and timing retard eventually you'll want more. You can try those others and they might work for you. But for me I wanted tried and true performance. NOS wins more racing events in the country than any other manufacturer. My kit may be spendy but it WORKS.

HOLTZMAN!!!

..go read my thread...it doesn't need bottle heaters or any bells and whistles. You can buy the smaller valved (less power) kit for the 3cyl 4 strokes. It will work awesome!!

If you dont have much af a budget than stay away from it. You have to do it properly or it WILL cost you big time. I have a BOSS kit and I have just ordered another 2.5lb bottle cause it goes quick.

Whatever you choose you will have to spend some time tuning it. The NOS kit is not an install for the average guy. I spent a lot of time installing it, but it has work great since day 1. I have installed an NX kit on another sled and if I were to do it again it would be a lot faster and easier. If you choose NOS or NX, either one is good, PM me and I'll do what I can to help. I took a lot of pics and I have posted a couple on here. I have ridden another sled with the BOSS system and it's not as strong but it seemed to work O.K. my buddy has it for sale now I can ask him how much if you would like it's for an Apex so it should have everything that you would need.
