I have 03 RX-1 shorty with 1.25 lug, green springs ... otherwise it is stock.

From idle to WOT I hit 9400 and then it slowly creeps up to 10000 or 10200 RPM. I would like to quickly hit 10300 and stay there.

I know I have several options . One guy I spoke with suggested tightening the twist angle on my secondary. I know this will increase my RPMs but I only want to increase peak RPM.

I kind of think I need to lessen my tip weight on the primary. All my clutching is bone stock.

Any suggestions???

You have decreased your rpms by adding the 1.25 track like myself. Bigger rollers like the 04s could be a quick fix or gearing down 2 teeth on top and twisting your secondary to 6-2 will give you better shifting. You got to keep in mind that your peak torque RPM is lower than the peak HP RPM , but I know its nice to rev at 10,300-500 when crossing a lake with a few inches of snow which is hard to do with bone stock settings. Also gearing down doesn’t always mean going slower. Getting more shift gearing down sometimes gives you better performance than less shift with taller gearing. IMO the rx-1 is geared to tall. I’m returning to stock clutching and going to gear down myself at least 2 teeth on top. I already added a shim to stiffen up my stock primary spring which gave me approx. 200 rpm more and now I might also get a daulton helix with less finish angle. The flat profile of the stock arms seem to be good for top end speed from my experience. I truly believe the stock clutching can be tunned rather than replaced after my experience with 3 clutch kits. If you try different setups with a good test track for consistency you would know what I mean. I'm no expert in clutching, but this is my experience...later
