anyone done this? how hard is the install? does it cut much weight? the track is 16" wide i think, will it fit?

Install is easy - just time consuming. If me mind serves right you need to make some spacers to fit the nytro skid frame in a rx-1 tunnel (wider). I think the arms are narrower than the RX-1 tunnel.
You need the following critical meassurements to do the install:
1. Center of drive shaft to center of front holes in tunnel
2. Center of frontholes to top of tunnel
3. Distance from front holes to holes in dropbracekts
4. Distance fromtop off tunnel to holes in drop bracket.
Here is a link to a apex mountain skid install on a rx-1 - gives you an idea:

A 16" track fits in the rx-1 tunnel with new dropbrakets and change of bolts in the chaincase.

thanks for the info. still not sure if i will do it. i saw a nytro mtx skid and track on snowest for thought id see if it would be worth getting? still think i might be better off with a m series skid if i can find one up here for a reasonable price. thanks

does anyone know how long of a track will be needed for the mtx skid on a rx1? can i use the stock 151" rx1 track? i kind of want to go with a longer track. anyone know the advantages of a mtx skid to my stock skid?

159 would be the max I would go without rail extensions, maybe 162 with a big wheel kit but you might just as well go 159 and save a few bucks.
I have a friend with the 159 16 Doo track with a 153 skid and it fits really nice and yeilds a good approach angle.

It's a great upgrade as FX Nytro MTX skids/tracks are a dime a dozen. I bought this SC shorty RX-1 and long tracked it. It would be an easier swap on the RX-1 MTN but I simply matched the front torque arm mounting points and used spacers as the arm is slightly narrower on the Nytro vs Apex/RX-1 and it worked great!
