As some of you know I'm looking into a nytro. I've found a couple good deals. I'm looking at an 09 RTX SE and a 13 RTX. What would the differences be between these years? Anything at all or are they pretty much the same? Thanks

Between the se version hardly anything to the 13. Mostly the floats with the resivoir in front on the se vs standard floats on the 13 and graphics would be your basic changes. Also I believe the se was before they put the extrovert drive axle on. That's really all the significant differences.
Honestly pick the one you feel is best shape and value. The se has the better of the floats on the front, still not great but better. Keep in mind the a arm bushings and exhaust doughnuts and the idler wheel bearings are the main wear items and see if you can feel any bulge on center shock body or not.

^nailed it. Otherwise check for a bent subframe (look and see if ski tips are even, and shock is fairly centered in upper A arm - I think they are a small amount off center to the back)

I looked at two and haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was wondering if all Nytros have the same size and style driver? Can anyone help? 2.86?

No they changed the shorty to, ended up making them a 120 because of the smaller diameter drivers. I didn't know that till cpl months ago myself

My 2010 RTX SE has extroverts! I think that was the first year because I do believe that was the first year for the Vector and Apex!

So when they changed to extros they changed the driver pitch? That's how they went from a 121"-> 120". The 121 was a 2.52 drive pitch and the 120 is a 2.86 drive pitch

Correct. And the apex came out in 06 but had lots of refinements in 10

But no idea when they changed the nytro? I'm going to assume the 2010 RTX SE and the 2011-2013 RTX? Can anyone confirm?

My 2010 RTX SE is a 2.52 pitch with extroverts. I have a 2 piece driver they later changed it to a one piece driver hence moving it to a 2.86 pitch I do believe. But no idea when they changed the nytro? I'm going to assume the 2010 RTX SE and the 2011-2013 RTX? Can anyone confirm?

That's good info! But later when? 2011? Only reason I'm curious about this is because a Star 128" relocate kit would be another top mod once I buy a nytro. I already have 128" track sitting in the garage with 2.86 pitch.

I'm not sure what year the track pitch was changed. There was a year when some Nytros had a 2.52 pitch, and others had a 2.86 pitch, then I think the following year all were 2.86 pitch. The dead giveaway to what pitch it has is by looking at the type of track - assuming they have the stock track. A Ripsaw 1 track has a 2.52" pitch and is therefore a 121" track. A Ripsaw 2 track has a 2.86" pitch and is therefore a 120" track. Regardless of the track length, the skids are exactly the same (except for maybe a different type of shock). To accommodate either a 120" or 121" track, Yamaha did not change the skid. They simply made up the difference between the track lengths within the track tension adjustment.
