Has anyone tried the Aaen Performance Header? They are claiming 8 h.p. with a stock muffler. I see it is a bit cheaper than the Excell one, and supposedly a few more horses. Here is a link to it. http://www.aaenperformance.com/Yamaha_Nytro.asp
Just wondering what people's thoughts were on this.

I would go with the Hindle. Firstly it is made from stainless steal, not mild steel that is coated. secondly, it negates the dreaded exhaust donuts and bellows. Thirdly, it is a proven system that several people on this site are using without issues; if you decide to go with a complete system along with fuel controller, the maps have already been developed, just plug and play...

I've been running the Aaen header for the last 2 years and with 6400 mi I haven't had any issues with it. I did replace the original doughnuts at 4000mi with some cometic ones ,which seem to be holding up better. It does perform better than stock and my sled wth a fuel controller, and stock airbox is competative with an apex.

Depends what muffler you run and with or without a noise reducer...pm me for details as I don't want to hijack the OPs thread.

I've been testing with viperguy, and he has a 08 apex with pc3, ign box ,ullmer clutch kit,air box mod. Top end is real close, but he's pulling me through midrange. If I loose the airbox and get a clutch kit it's going to be interesting.Apex2006 said:berge75 said:I've been running the Aaen header for the last 2 years and with 6400 mi I haven't had any issues with it.
