Thinking about replacing my stock front bumper. The question is, which one? So far, I like the Skinz, GYTR and the Timbersled Boonie Bumper. The only downfall that I can see with the Boonie Bumper is the shock mounts for the bumper and it's quite a bit more than the others. Looking for a good durable and somewhat nice looking bumper. Thanks guys.

Hey Bordnbill

I initially had the same concern that you probably have with how the bonnie bumper mounted to the top shock mount because a severe front impact would have the tendency to bend the shock mounts. However the more i looked around at all the other bumpers out there, they did not seem to provide much support for the top portion or bar of the bumper. They all seem to rely on the lower stock mounts and basically cantilever the upper portion of the bumper away from the lower mounts similar to the little stock hoop. In a frontal impact in my opinioin it will just fold the top half of the bumper backwards over the lower mounts becasue there is nothing supporting it from behind. So I felt that most of the bumpers i was looking at were more for show then function. therefore I felt that the B-bumper provided a little more protection and i ended going with that one. I also grew to like the sleek look of it which is funny because I thought they looked really funny in the picture Allen had on his web site the first time i saw it. It was not until i saw one in person at the SLC snow show one year that i really noticed how well it complimented the lines of the front of the Nyto. They are more expensive but I felt i was getting a little more protection thein the the others provided in the long run. That is just me though. Regardless of what you end up buying, if you hit one of those tall round things that you find in the forest you are going to be replacing part guaranteed good luck

Anyone have experience with the Boonie Bumper? I read on another forum that the Aftermarket bumper that's offered in the Yamaha catalog is garbage.

Leaning towards the Timbersled bumper, but want to see if there is more info about it out there. Hate to spend $300 on a bumper that's not going to hold up or maybe others have had issues with it.

The only issue with the ts bumper is its to close to the hood and it makes removing the hood difficult.

I think you can trim some of the plastic so you dont have to wrestle with it though.

I wish I could remember who (member of the forum) I got mine from. He built it himself, I picked it up a couple years ago now.. Its the one in my avatar.

Fabcraft makes a nice bumper for the nytro too.

I'm liking that Fabcraft bumper. I'm looking on their site, and see nothing for the Nytro.

Look at their projects page (Shop Cam) for a Nytro build. In any event, you'll probably have to contact them for info on their bumper. ;)!

Here's a couple more from their site.
