I thought my Apex was a pain. I hope I never have to do a plug change anywhere other than the garage. Three beer job!

There is an easier way than going through removing all the plastic and tank. I was able to do mine by pulling side panels and using the deep socket that comes in tool pouch along with a multi-angled ratchet and magnetic tip. Still tough to get my fat hands in there but was under a 15min job.
good luck

Yes I did it my first time not knowing Yamaha has a lovely too to use in the kit. It didn't take long though and was easy just used a plug socket and 6 " extension, just put them together with the socket in the cyl and they fit fine with tank and all. I think i will try the tool the next time and see which i prefer.

X2, def no need to remove the tank and everything. go from the clutch side. use a spark plug socket and an extension or two. lucky if its a one beer job and i enjoy my beer lol.

If you've upgraded to a Trail Tank, then you definitely have to remove the gas tank to change the plugs.

better to leave the tool in the bag where it can sit and look pretty `cause thats about all its good for....... made real cheap twists apart if plugs are tight (and especially first time they are) I believe it is a 16 mm deep well that is needed with proper extension
