hi, i want to delete the reverse gear in the chaincase to reduce weight. (drag racing) it hard to find a chaincase without reverse, what have you done to delete the reverse? thanks
Cover, lower gear, inner spacer, washer and nut. Chain and everything on the upper shaft is the same.

How much weight is the reverse how much will you shave off
My mtx chaincase doesn't have reverse. I bet you could find one on ebay for a resonable price.

Yes and the shaft is shorter the revers chain case is bigger. You could cut the stock shaft and machine the threads into it

Threads are already there , just take out all the reverse stuff, you need to get the nut and washer for bottom gear. also can use same cover ,there is plenty of room for the forks inside , they can`t hit anything. been doing this for years.
Yeah the shaft is the same. In 08 anyways. They could have changed it after they got rid of the non reverse option.
The non reverse cover does offer a strength advantage by putting a bearing on each side of the gear. Eliminating any shaft flex in the case. Shaft flex is what causes the broken bolt on reverse models and on older other brands with hex shafts. So shaft flex is there, but with the large reverse nut probably not a issue.
