I have a 09 Nytro MTX 153. The last time I was out west I noticed I was only getting 7500 RPM's at elevation (11,000'+). Once we got back down around 8-9,000' I could pull 8700 on the trail. I didn't notice thr RPM's until the last day so didn't play with the clutch. MY question si what is redline and what kind of rpm's should I be aiming for. I have a Heel Clicker clutch kit that they told me what to run for that elevation. Wondering if I would have been better off taking the rivets out of the stock weights (8fs)and running that setup.

Thanks in advance!

I belive the 09'xtx and other nytro's engine rpm is limited to 9400... but I may be wrong... I see 9200 rpm on the lake with my xtx on long speed runs

8900 is target rpm. you will definately have to re clutch for elevation.

GWG primary spring and run the weight empty should get you close.

I have 13.3s in all three in mine now and rpms are pretty close riding at our elevation so that should work for you in MN as well

I have a Heel Clicker kit for sea level and it rocks. They told me what spring and weights to run above 11,000' I thought they would have a pretty good idea but....

The guy I bought it from ran the 8fs w/rivets and the GWG in W Yellow Stone around 8,000'. I didn't want grind the rivets out if I didnt have to. Hoping that I could have a couple set ups with what I had.

The 8fs weights with no rivets and gwg spring are supposed to be the high elevation setup stock. I have found when I am running around 10500 feet it is a little low. I am usually pulling around 8200-8300 at that elevation. I have found snow conditions have a big effect on rpm also. Sticky snow or set up snow can pull down the rpm by 3-400. I rode today and with the spring snow I was running almost 500 low.

I have been told by most people target is around 8600.
