for the last 4 rides my 08 nytro rtx w/mcx stage 1 kit has only been pulling 10 pounds of boost, it usally runs at 15-16...my rpm is 8870 flat out across the lake..... i cant see 300 rmp being able to mess up 5 pounds of boost, since that is 80hp.......... any ideas past what i have done so far
1. hightened up the shockwave helix
2. cleaned both clutchs
3. new belt
4. looked over all hoses and conections for leaks
5. changed all fuses/relays with new grease
6.inspected turbo for brokin fins
any help on this would be awsome guys i am stumped :o|

for sure. i thought it might be were i had to cut the pipe and re-weld it but it was still all good, maybe if the exhaust gasket against the engine was leaking? might that be enough to cause the lower boost? i never took the tank and gaurds off to look

maybe your gage is off. if you loose 5#'s boost your rpm's would drop also (too much weight in primary). so if your clutching is the same, you were able to bounce off the rev limiter before or you still have the same amount of boost. just a thought

yeah my clutching is the same, and i do notice the power loss, the machine is a 121 so when i wheely it needs a small hill or just room to spool up here as before it would just rocket up...
so have changed the belt again and i hope that maybe that will be enough to get the rpm back up to 9100

If you have an exhaust leak you will probably hear it. I have seen leaks at the collector and also at the RH bellows, especially from using too much octane. Also check the clamps on the charge tube, a slight leak is all it takes to lose boost.

what is the tvc valve and were do i find it... kinda hazy on that one
thanks

why do you want to run 9100rpm?

9100 is what the machine is set to rev out at running 15 pounds of boost.... i ran all last year at 9100 and it was awsome :yam:

That's a few more rpm than I would run. Add a little weight (preferably) or even 3/4 out on the helix and try it at 8800 once you find the leak.

yeah i will back it off a bit once the leak is foound i still cant find anything, i might be looking to deep into this, time to go back to the simple things and get the light back out.... :o|
still with the machine only pulling 10pounds or 160 hp it is still a hoot to ride! :yam:
