Well had the Nytro out on the lake today. Worked real well. Raced all the above sleds, plus some others (Fusion 900, couple ZR's, Rev 800's ect). Raced about a 1/4 mile, maybe just under. Speeds before letting off was mid 90's. A few of the F1000's had some work done on them and were pretty fast. If I or my buddy got the jump on them we stayed out there till probably 80 and they'd go by. Some of the stockers (at least assuming they were stock) we were able to stay ahead of the whole way on some runs when we got good starts. There were a lot of F1k's out there.

There were a couple XP 800's too. The yellow one that you'll see in the video beat us more times that we beat it. Usually a sled length ahead, though in the video you'll see my buddy neck and neck with him. The black xp (also in the video) we pretty much had our way with and he was usually a sled or a sled and a half back. There were a spattering of F-7's out there and for the most part we didn't have any problem with them either. There were a couple though that were consistently 2 -3 sled lengths ahead at the end, one of the guys admitted that he had the 900 kit done. Was beating the F1k's too. I imagine the other had something similar despite his "just about stock" claims hah.

My buddy's son was on the apex (excell exhaust, filter kit, fuel accelerator, clutching), he had trouble getting out of the hole because the snow wasn't hardpacked. If he got a good start he'd usually end up ahead of most if not all the sleds. I'm not in any of these video's. But my sled is very comparable to my buddies (red/white Nytro RTX). He's pretty good at setting the sled up. I can usually top end him and as long as I get out of the hole I was staying ahead of him. My sled has only the Excell exhaust system. No clutching, no gearing.

I apologize for the poor quality of the video's. First video if you pause it just as they are approaching my location you'll see two F1k's and the Apex in front. Next you'll see another F1k just a nose ahead of the yellow xp, on the far side you'll see my buddy's Nytro neck and neck with the xp. After that you'll see a black xp and a red F7.

Second video you'll see the black XP again, I think an F7 or two. He got a great holeshot on that one. The Nytro is not a lake racer by any means and we got beat plenty, don't get me wrong, but we were racing the big iron sleds from the other makes and in the 1/4 hanging with them. That's impressive. This sled is impressive. Couldn't be happier.

Glad to hear you were right there with them,So much for Yamahas 4 strokes being slow. By the way,Your 1st video does not work.

Yamahanator cool videos... My Apex seems to have no Problem with my buds F1000 and he is has 150 studs (1.175) on a 1"Hacksaw with y-pipe and bullseye with the 1st re-flash done. He just upgraded to the new Cobra track with 170 1.450 studs, so we'll so what the outcome is there. Currently, I can get him out of the hole or at a roll on @30mph by like 3 lengths and he just can'nt pull up on me at all. I usually can beat him by 3-4 lengths.

dont let the doo boys see this, they havent lost a race yet.

That apex in the video was doing really well with roll ons. He was having a hard time hooking up until later in the afternoon when it got a little colder and the snow packed more.

I really like everything about my new RTX, aint crazy about the fox floats.......but the top end power of this sled is weak when comparing to the other guys 800's and 1000's.

I was up at tug hill fri. and had about a 200 yd. straight away we were racing on.....
a rev 800 and a fusion 900.....both consistantly beat me....!
seemed pretty even out of the hole, but they would pass me around 80.

On one longer race with the rev, I had him out of the hole by like a sled, around 85 he just cruised by......my sled doesn't go over 95.....last year riding with these same guys, with my apex, I would spank them consistantly.

I guess I want the FX chasis with the 150hp motor !!!......that would be perfect.

ya top end really matters, fall off at 95 once and then 100 and tell me if you can tell the difference. The sled ran 95 in a qrt at the shoot out, the f1000 and rev went 101, 600 polaris went 95 also. A sled with a foot of suspension thats sits really high in the air ain't gonna be a top end rocket.

this weekend yukon yamaha entered into the "atlin hill climb and drags"
the climb was re-booked due to poor hill shape but the drags!!!
stock nytro out of the box with 50 kms on it..... we entered it in the 600... 600 mod... 700.... 700mod.... and 800 classes
we loosened up the suspension and changed the comp to -20 for each cylender and raced it as is no pipe no headers nothing
we won the 600.. 600mod... 700...700mod and 3rd in the 800 stock class!!!
we were by no means the fastest sled on the track but beacuse of the huge torque we won out of the hole every time and never looked back
hell yeah yamaha way to make a rockin sled
the stck nytro should be called THE SHOW STOPPER
everyone stops when one is run or out playing hahaha

They (yamaha) don't want the triples faster than the 4's... so they tune em' for the trail low/mid. A nicely worked over triple could probably do quite well up top.

Has anyone dropped the front and rear to see how much that helps out on a lake? I don't think the rear skid is ideal for top end runeither.

"Yamahnator" I had no idea that was you.. I was the one on the Black 128" Apex GT. You guys have some great running Nytro's and your buddy's Apex really pulls hard once it gets traction..

Ahh cool, it was great to meet you. That GT of yours is very slick. Was good to see some Apex's out there giving the cat guys some competition. Now that I know who you are I'll have to get more info on where you ride on your Quebec trips. It's been a couple years now I've been saying I'd get up there and still haven't.

Yamahanator where you ride in tughill?? Because I plan to go up alot nextyear and maybe we could hook up and do some riding.

What lake was this ? How did snow hold up last night ? Might come up this weekend . Thanks, Dave
