So went to inspect my skid last night after experiencing a weird suspension feeling on the few mile loop I took. Turns out the center shock had snapped off at its base. Is this a common problem?
The track also took some damage from this happening. In the center of the belt a bit of rubber has been rubbed off and rods are now exposed. Is this going to present a problem for me? I just put the new cobra track on 500 miles ago and if I can make it last the season if I find a shock that would be great. I can find an alternative in summer.

Call Carver suspension. They build a fox shock replacement valved custom for you and ship it to your door for under 300$. Happened to my xtx 2 years ago. No problems since, rides great.

No, I lucked out I guess. Small rub mark, that's all.

My buddy's AC 7000 snapped the top off his centre shock off a few weeks ago and he didn't catch it in time, it banged around in the skid against the track and made a mess of it. Ripped out the centre guides and started to slice the track real bad. Had to get a new one. Glad you caught yours. MS

well I got a shock last week, bought 3 tubes of e6000 after reading a handful of threads. heated up the garage and with the skid out sealed up the center section with the e6000. it kind of self leveled into the spot were rubber is missing as well as soaked into the fiberglass rods. 250 miles on it over the weekend and it looks like when I put the e6000 on. Should last me the season no problem! might even keep it on the sled if it holds up.
