I am looking to install a Timbersled Mountain Tamer on my XTX. My plan is to use the stock rails. Does anyone know if I can run an 8" rear idler set up with my stock rails or do I have to use the stock rear idlers?

When using the stock rails your pretty much limited to the stock size rear wheels unless you go with an off-set rear axle set up.
If you do much off trail or mountian riding, the Ice Age/Timbersled combo works well. You use 8" wheels with an Arctic Cat rear axle with Ice Age rails.
Performance wise there is a noticable improvement in climbing ability and down hill braking, when swapping out the OEM tipped up rails for the straight Ice Age rails.
