OK, Lets just keep this real and I only want to hear from someone that has raced an 800R renegade against a Nytro XTX. I tried to search on doo-talk and all I get is someone that ran one against a regular Nytro, and mostly an 08. So you know what kind of response I got.... Not good, the usual Nytro sucks and gets killed after 70, bla, bla, bla...
Darenello asked it last year and I don't believe he really got the question asked when he asked for top speed numbers for a gade. But instead he got the usual Yamaha sucks and the XP800R 121" kills the Nytro on top. He never got the answer after 6 pages of posts.... The 800R gade is geared down 2 sizes from the 121, so it's top speed should be close or the same as an XTX? Anyone have any real world results...

Good luck against an 800R,a Nytro is considered a 600 class sled for a reason. sorry, but I haven't ran a 800R Renegade against a XTX,but we did run a 08 600 SDI Renegade against a 09 XTX,they where about even, the nytro got the holeshot and the sdi hung with it side by side. I was on the 09 XTX demo and my buddy was on his 08 Renegade it could have been set up since the XTX was a demo I weigh 230 and my buddy weighs 250 so you know driver weight. I know Yamaha has a video on there site showing the XTX beating all the other 600 cc crossover sleds drag racing, but I can only tell you what I saw in the real world with my own eyes!
really, if you want real world answers, all you can do is line em up and find out. ski

My next door neighbor has one our cottage is in Elk Lake. I have an 08 renegade and my other friend an 09 renegade. My renegade is ported etc so I am no contest and cannot commet on the 08. The 09 renegade makes quick work of the XTX however regardless of the conditions the extra hp of the 800r is just to much for the nytro to get away from. They are close to about 20 mph then its game over. In waist deep snow the renegade will break trail and climb taller hills without having to take multiple runs at the same track to get up them etc...
Speed wise give the 800R at least 7-10 MPH more up top.

I just don't see how this is possible, when on most accounts an XTX is 100-106mph (GPS) sled. I have not heard of to many XP 121" for matter that can barely hit 105mph (GPS) without some help. So with gearing of a gade being 2 teeth down from a 121 and having a 16" wide track, I just don't see this being 7-10mph more on top end for the gade. Either everysled on doo-talk is slow or you and your buddy have some really quick gades.

There's a chill in the air so you will be able to find out 1st hand in the not too distant future. Keep in mind the XP is quite a bit lighter has more HP. HP usually wins and coupled with the power to weight advantage I'd put my money on the 800.......

Other than different skis my 09 XP 800r shorty is stock and I have it on my GPS at 116mph. My buddy has the same sled as my XP and he only weighs about 150 and I'm sure he has a little more on the top end than me.

Wow that's good, but like I said... Post that on DOO-Talk, because you would be one of the first that I have read without some major work done.

Who cares!!!!! The only 1st place I ever see Ski Doo win is beating everyone to the dealer to have something repaired.

The problem with BRP is they do running line changes so there can be so many different combinations of the same sled that they all run different. The rep told me they make changes during the assemby process so one might have a different brand of rings in it or they might get clutch springs from different vendors so its basically a crap shot as far as what your sled will run like. He was trying to paint it like it was a good thing but I was thinking yeah if yours was made after they made a good update.

I have an 07 phazer fx with a few/many bolt on mods, I ride with 3 friends that all have ski doo's. my one friend has a 07 600sdi gsx and cant pass me until i get in the mid 90mph range, my other friend has a 07 renagade 600h.o. piped, clutched and v force reeds he passes me around 60mph, my other buddy has a 08 renagade 600sdi bone stock and passes me at the mid 90mph range. I ran a 06 skidoo 800 but I dont know what model I killed him till I got to the mid 90's. I expect to get passed by these sleds in the mid 90's since I am only on a Phazer. All of the races took place on the trail never on ice or a lake. (i dont run studs) oh if the trail is filled with moguls I have to stop and wait for all of them, lol I would think with a few bolt on mods a nytro would kill a 800. oh one more thing they all beat me to the gas station. hehe and they are all broke with repairs and how much gas they suck down. the one guy with the 600ho gets about 8-10mpg. he spends $80 to $100 for a daily ride, I spend $20.

It is what it is, with us I could care a less I still own my turbo apex as well Im not bias if yamaha made a nytro that would handle I would likely have another one. The XTX my neighbour has is stock, the 09 XP Gade is also stock the gade wins hands down every time. I think its a very strong running 09 from what else I have seen but none the less these are the only two I have seen compete. My modded 800R renegade isn't much faster top end then the stock one but the accelleration is much better. I doubt you will see any XP run over 118 mph no matter the mods or the distance. I cannot myself see an XTX running much over 110 mph but guys say they have. My gade with modded motor would turn around 116 MPH on my GPS I think it was 115.8 to be exact.
