I have a 06 Apex with a 2860 Garett turbo, this is part of a Boondocker kit. I have installed the .063" head shim & 2 gaskets, no other engine modifications. This sled it set up for radar runs only and I am wondering how much boost can I safely run with 116 octane race gas? We are stuck in the low 130's in 1000' runs at 18 lbs of boost and are really hunting for 140 mph. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I had similar set up, CPR front mount though. and .40 shim w/2 gaskets. I ran 22-24lbs boost with no problems on Sunoco Maximal 116. This was at 1000' above sea level.

That was my thought too. I have a Parker Motorsports knock snesor on it and it makes me a little nervous when I see a flash. It seems to be pretty sensitive, I just don't want to burn it down.

Since your running Race fuel, Do yourself a big favor and remove the head shim, and go back to 1 gasket.

That sled should run 135 in 660 at 18 psi

The 2860 is only good for 24 PSI on an Apex motor.

You can run 25 PSI on 116 all day long especially if you have the ability to pull some timing with the RB3.

Just Make sure you have large enough fuel system and injectors to run that much boost.

Ted.
