oft relocator vs pivot riser

Guys, this may be a stupid question but can somebody interpret what the oft relocator kit does exactly.

I think it moves the bottom of the steering post forward resulting in the handle bars being more toward the rear of the sled??

thanksss

The other way around. It moves the top of the bars forward and up away from the rear of the sled. When you install it you if you were sitting on the sled you would unbolt the steering post from the sled, then push it forward about 2.5 inches then put the locater in where the pos used to be and bolt it in. Then bolt the post to the round end of the relocater. Hope that made sence, there might be a YouTube vid I think.
So it actually will make the steering post be more straight up and down? Having to reach further forward to grip the handlebars?

Yes the idea is that in doing this it changes the angle of steering. It makes it more of a push/pull effort rather that the stock up/down movement. This is supposed to help with arm fatigue and make the steering geometry easier and more normal.

I have not tried this on mine yet as I haven't got any ride time to see if I like the bars how they are stock with my 2 inch riser, but have done a lot of reading on it and will likely be my first mod after snow flies.

OFT relocator corrects the awful steering geometry of the Nytro. Ski Doo does the same thing, they claim aggressive seating position but they are all designed for midgets. Anyone, over 6' in height can not get adequate leverage to ride comfortably in big bumps, not to mention steering in sharp turns. Having the handlebars in my knee is not by definition of good leverage. OFT relocator is on top of my list for Nytro mods 3rd year in a row!! Riser is just a riser, it helps but does not correct geometry. Great job by OFT..

I went the first year with out it and I actualy was woke up in the middle of the night with my arms in pain and couldn't sleep. And this was after a 200 mile day of on and off aggressive riding. I also spend a better than fair amount of time in the gym. So the OFT was the first thing I put on in the off season and after my first big ride last year I felt as though I wasted a year with the sled in year one. Put it this way, there is no amount of typing that anyone can do to describe the difference or how much better this will make the sled. The best was I can think is that you don't notice how wrong it is until you put in the of and fix it. It just makes it like every other sled, Atv, dirtbike that you have ever ridden.

You could not have explained it any better! ;)!

Well I put mine on before I ever got to ride it in the snow so my sled will be much better than I ever knew hahahah

the OFT relocator is the 1st Mod everyone suggested in doing when I got my sled. So if the general opinion is to get it first and before anything else, then I should believe them (which is what I did)

I have the OFT and lake effect 2.5" riser and there up there for sure but I also have a WRP 2+ seat. I would recommend this set up to any one.

BDX (black diamond xtreme) also makes a nice kit... it has a joint in it, very nice piece
