I just did my first service myself. 10.50 for a Wix oil filter , 7.99 a quart for the yamalube semi synthetic 0w-30. do yourself a favor and buy some of the plastic rivets, you will probably end up breaking atleast one along the way. Part# for the Wix filter is 51358.

I hate the plastic rivets. I had to use a pick to get um out and ended up messing a few up. how did you go about take them off?

I did mine on my own and it cost me about $67 Canadian. That included shop supplies (oil pan and filter wrench).
I went with Amsoil Full synthetic. I just could not justify spending more for semi-synthetic oil because it said Yamalube on the bottle.

I just changed Mine this morning. I paid 39 bucks for the Yamaha filter and 4 quarts of Yamaha semi synthetic oil. The plastic rivets are very easy to remove and replace. You just have to pop up the center part of the rivet with a small screwdriver and they pull out very easy. Then to put them back you just put them in the hole and push in the center. I think some guys are trying to pry the whole rivet out at the same time. I think changing the oil on the Nytro is very easy even with having to deal with the rivets and removing all the panels.
