My last oil change was performed by the dealer. Can not loosen the crank case bolt, torked in way to tight :o| . Just doing a sanity check, the bolt is a #6 hex, correct? Any ideas how to loosen with out stripping would be appreciated..
Thanks

Mine was the same way. I made my brother climb under there and put some serious elbow grease into it and it finally popped. I thought the allen wrench would bust but the bolt finally gave.

Take it back to your dealer and ask him if he thinks it is a mack truck!Or if his mechanic has a torque wrench.

Try an extension on the allen key for leverage and make sure your're going the right way.

Last resort channel locks on outer edge of bolt or kick dealer and mechanic in the NUTS!!!!!!!!!!

Another reason why I do my own work you know the old saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use a socket with the Allen end and a good size ratchet. Make sure its in deep and square. It should pop.

6mm Allen is correct. And the correct torque on the oil pan drain bolt is 22 ft lbs, that's why it feels a little stiff.

Finally was able to loosen the bolt after very large pair of Channel Locks. Nice 22 ft lbs of tork, more like 222 ft lbs, will have a nice talk with the dealer service dept this week when I exchange the bolt as I mangled the #$%^ out of this one.
What a pain in the $^&.

I appreciate your help/replys.

Mine was the same way, tried everything and ended using a chisel and hammer. I was pretty pissed. The bolt looked like a piece of torch slag when I was done with it.

Too funny, I remember my first and I had to use a jack handle extension on my allen wench!!!

I had more trouble with the factory installed oil filter.. :o| :die MM.

try using a k&n oil filter, the # is kn204, they have a 17mm nut welded to the top of it, easy to remove and it's and awesome filter

If you have frouble in the future try a screw driver stab the oil filter and turn it loose.Or you can also buy an oil filter socket that fits on top of the filter.
