I'm changing mine at 50 miles and then 500 miles. I sometimes find a lot of metal in that first filter change.

I would recommend you change it at 500

You guys down in Rottenchester are getting wild on us. Ride the sled for a good 500 miles and change the oil. Time not in use doesn't affect the oil.

What would it hurt to get those metel filings out of there at 50 miles.

LOL
Yeah, sitting oil goes bad. depends on the oil's "born on date" and if the refinery pumped-in alot of preservatives or not! LOL j/k

Realy, I guess I am thinking like they tell with a car so many miles or so many months. I have never had a 4 stroke before.

Would be a waste that's pretty good oil Yamaha has put in your sled. Semi synthetic.

Like they say with a car 3 months or 3000 miles. If you are driving short trips everyday and don't reach that 3000 miles in 3 months you should change it because it is starting to contaminate. If you drive the vehicle on long trips and you don't drive it much, you should change it evey 3000 miles.

You can always polish the tunnel but make sure you dont get cubby's disease. You could order your goodies and install them prior to the snow flying.

Thanks flyingpig, I like to pull the filter apart early and see how many chunks I can find in it. I already have three coats silicone wax on the skis. I 'll do it again on Thursday thou. Pistons and rods custom painted too.
