afaik that nipple off the bottom returning to the crank/bottom of the engine is required on all of the 4strokes no? and no it does not get contaminated with water, its completely sealed from the intake portion of the airbox

I'm pretty sure the nipple you are talking about is on the 05-08 carb versions. My 05 has one and I just pulled the top and side panels of my 14 and there are 3 hoses going to the airbox...none of them on the bottom.afaik that nipple off the bottom returning to the crank/bottom of the engine is required on all of the 4strokes no? and no it does not get contaminated with water, its completely sealed from the intake portion of the airbox
#24 in the fiche mentioned earlier goes back to the block.
And just to reiterate, there are TWO hoses....one smaller (on the RS) that attach to the rear (closest to the driver) of the airbox.
The third hose attaches to the RS SIDE of the airbox and it comes from the oil tank.

Yes it's a the end of the screwdriver in the pic. It's a small hole mabe 1/8" with a nipple on the other side. snow would drain out. It's the lowest point of the air box. This is where any oil or melted snow would drain out.
Looks like my pic won't insert. I'll post it later today.

What is your oil level now? If it is at the top of the fill line, you MAY have had too much oil in the tank and as a previous poster said, the extra oil gets puked into the airbox.....somehow. Is there a foam breather element in your airbox?

OK so there's a hole there. It's a drain hole into the chassis? Maybe my 14 Vector has it...I don't know. My 05 has something similar but there's a extension tube attached to the nipple so the water drains low into the chassis.

It was about 1/2 way up the hatch marks on the dip stick. I discovered the oil on the floor when I was about to change the oil this fall. I ran all of last season without adding oil.

Last Sunday in your post with the pics of the 2 fiches...the top one.....#15.....can anybody confirm that this piece has some sort of check valve in it? I thought I've read that it does and maybe it's not working correctly?
Before the end of last season, did you lay the sled on it's side, or park it at any extreme angle?

No there wasn't any laying on it's side etc. I'm lucky enough to have a sled lift. When I backed it off the trailer this fall, I backed up a little too fast & it did tilt rather abruptly. Maybe enough to slosh some oil in the reservoir into the tube that goes to the air box???

Jeez I dunno. Oil was cool/cold when you did this and it would seem to have to be one heck of a slosh to have so much oil travel so far.
How big was the pool of oil on the floor? Quarter sized? CDN dollar rectangle? doing my best to use CDN funds for a description!

Canadian dollar rectangle?? You've been to long away from the great white north.
It's about the size of a quarter now & not worth much more.
The floor had a good sized wet spot. The sled had been on the lift for about a week. So it might have been 1/2 a cup of oil. I'm thinking I might load'er up & take it to the dealer. $$$$
