I finally got my skid plate, took the old custome one off i made for the time being, realized there was some oil on it? Then looked at the motor and its kind of all over the bottom of it torwards the front of the sled.... Its not coming from the oil filter, or the oil drain plug hole I checked it throughly. Oil light never came on. IDK
I did just change it before i noticed this i cleaned up all oil that dripped while changing so its not that any help?
Sorry with all the questions, but another thing i noticed was that black sway bar, is there suppose to be play in it, i was able to move it side to side a little less than half inch.
Thanks

Have you had your sled laid on its left side? Most likely leaking out of the vent and you may want to clean up the air box if that is the case.

I was just about to add this, yea like a few weeks ago out carving tipped it on its side for awhile long enough for the engine to kill, you think oil just made its way into the airbox, and just NOW is starting to leak out of there??

Yep if you don't have the "roll over kit" the engine will pump oil into the air box when on its side, take that top of the air box off and clean it out. I usually take the foam out and wash it with dish soap and let it dry overnight. Last time I was in cooke I had mine on its side a few times and when I got home my light was flickering on and off a little. Scared the crap out of me when I took the skid plate off to see all the oil even though I new of the issue. I would highly recommend mtnvipers roll over kit if you like to boon dock.

You were absolutely correct! I took the air box apart what you know oil residue in there, cleaned it out, now im goign to have to look for a Roll Over Kit for sure.

oil leaking
my 09 XTX pan gasket was leaking...My dealer said a few had been replaced on warrenty this year...I wondered why my light was on a couple of times and I had to top it up with about 100ml each time.
Only started to drip the other day and I took it in. Poor that Yamaha would have such a basic issue with a pan seal!

Re: oil leaking
Thanks for the heads up. I did my back shocks recently and noticed oil on my skid plate after putting skid back in and running the sled. I do have roll over kit so maybe same thing is happening to me. Another summer project or maybe a new Nytro?????alsops said:my 09 XTX pan gasket was leaking...My dealer said a few had been replaced on warrenty this year...I wondered why my light was on a couple of times and I had to top it up with about 100ml each time.
