Hi there first post here hope someone can shed a little light on this
So I have a 2010 nytro mtx and have owned it since new,it is completly stock and I have never had any issues with it till now,it has 6500 kms on it and now when I first start up when cold the yellow warning light will come on and the oil can indicator on the LCD display will show up,its not giving a code 30 and when I give it throttle after its warmed up it seems to go out and I haven't noticesd it come back on while riding,I'm thinking maybe oil sending unit but am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem? and I have checked oil level and it's good
thanks for any help!

Just add a little bit more oil and you will be good.

Had same thing happen to mine last winter, oil light coming on during warm up but would go off as soon as I would touch the throttle after warm up...
At the beginning of last season I did a oil change and filled it to the top of the H mark well after a couple rides I noticed oil on the floor in the trailer, oil was spitting out the air box while riding...
So I did some research on here and came across guys having the same problem..
What I have learned the Nytro is kinda sensitive to oil level, if you fill it to the H mark you will most likely loose some while riding, leaving it close to the L mark you will get the oil light come on during warm up...
Since second half of last season and the start of this winter I’ve kept the oil at about half way between H-L and haven’t had the light since...
Like Grimm said add some oil and you should be good, just don’t put a lot, add like 100cc at a time till the light don’t come on during warm up..

Had the same issue a couple times but only in really cold conditions first start in the morning. -20c or colder
I figured it was because the cold oil is drawn out of the tank and being thicker due to temps it can't flow back into the tank fast enough causing the low oil light to come on. That's my thoughts anyway
Maybe your right, if it's a little below the Full it could have an effect on it also
I just shut mine off for 30 seconds if it happens and on the second start it never came back on

As long as the light goes out once the sled is warmed up I wouldn't worry to much. Obviously check it to ensure it's at the proper level but it's not uncommon for that light to show up on the first start of a cold day. Mine does it occasionally. Typically if I shut the sled off and restart it the light goes out right away.
Happened to me yesterday at -10f. Some oil puked into the air box too.
I changed to oil last spring and this has been my 6th or 7th ride so far this year. Not sure why it happened yesterday and not before.

Yes, always do + changed the oil filter. Only happened once and was on a very cold day. I rode a bunch of times after the oil change with no issues.
